PROJECT OVERVIEW
This workflow is an end-to-end AI-powered video automation built in n8n that generates a personalized AI clone video using HeyGen. It automatically fetches avatar and voice details, processes a script provided as a PDF file, summarizes the content using AI, and sends the final script to HeyGen to generate a realistic clone video with voice. The final output is a playable video URL generated without any manual video recording or editing.
The goal was to enable scalable, consistent, and automated personalized video creation using AI avatars and synthetic voices.

The Challenge

Businesses needed a way to generate professional-quality personalized videos quickly and at scale.
THE SOLUTION ARCHITECTURE (HOW DOES IT WORK?)
We designed a structured automation pipeline inside n8n integrating AI models and APIs.
How Does It Work?
Step 1: Workflow Trigger
- Workflow is manually triggered using Execute Workflow node
- Initiates end-to-end video generation process
Step 2: Avatar ID Retrieval
- An HTTP request fetches available Avatar IDs from HeyGen API
Step 3: Voice ID Retrieval
- Another API request retrieves the Voice ID
- Enables selection of specific AI voice for the clone video
Step 4: Script Download
- Script file (PDF format) is automatically downloaded from Google Drive
Step 5: PDF to Text Conversion
- The Extract from File node converts the PDF into plain text
- Prepares content for AI processing
Step 6: AI Script Summarization
- Extracted text is sent to an AI Agent
- AI generates a concise, clear, video-ready script
- Improves tone, clarity, and delivery quality
Step 7: Video Generation Request
- Summarized script + Avatar ID + Voice ID are sent to HeyGen
- Starts AI clone video rendering process
Step 8: Processing Wait
- A Wait node pauses the workflow
- Allows time for video rendering completion
Step 9: Video URL Retrieval
- Final HTTP request fetches generated video URL
- Provides a ready-to-share playable link
